our story

Way back in the old days, our ancestors started curing meat to preserve its nourishing qualities. As time went by, jerky in America and biltong in South Africa became well loved traditional snacks, each steeped in their own culture and traditions. Fast forward a couple hundred years and you’ll find the Texas Biltong Company (that's us!) founded by a South African and a Texan back in 2019. These two fellas found common ground in their love of high-quality beef. Using the same age old, tried-and-true techniques, we make our biltong with top-notch beef, natural flavors, and no added sugars. Then we air dry it 'til it's tender and tasty. The result? A hearty, down-home snack straight from the pasture to your palate. Because we made none, the only sacrifice you’ll have to make is sharing it… best make sure it’s only with your very favorite family and friends.
